  now that we clearly understand that the lives of the anointed who saw the events in 1914 must evidently overlap with the lives of the anointed who see the beginning of the great tribulation, what does this mean about the time left?.

  This is a letter I imagine I might have written , let's say in 1962.

  Dear Brothers up in Brooklyn,

  It seems to me that the Generation Jesus referred to concerning the last days must mean : 1. Not just the people alive in 1914 but other generations to follow ; 2. The Society should make it clear that when we are out in field service we should explain this in no uncertain manner to all people of goodwill who might be interested in our life saving message.

  Dear Brother Dantes,

  Thank you for your recent letter of enquiry. Because this is the 144th letter which you have sent to us upon this subject and because you have voiced your opinion on this matter to various brothers and sisters we find that we have no alternative but to ask your local congregational overseers to take proceedings and enquire as to whether you are following a line of appostasy.

  Of course the Society stands by the fact that Jesus spoke of ONLY ONE generation and it is blindingly obvious if you look at the masthead in the Awake/ Watchtower magazines as to which generation he was refering to.

  In conclusion we urge you to work closely with the local congregational overseers and the other brothers who are on your case. As for your other enquiry regarding the New World Translation . If we did consider that Jesus meant an ," overlapping " generation we would have no hesitation, compunction, call it what you may, but to amend the scriptures, in brackets of course, so that it reads as follows " this generation (ovarlapping) will not pass away ."

  Hey stay alive till 75 !

  It would be laughable if it wasn't such a con trick. First they twist the language of the scriptures to suit a preconceived notion or an idea they dreamed up, then they have the gall to twist the English language. They have this notion that if what they say is wrong it must be right because eventually Jehovah will part the clouds and show them that it's wrong by it not happening. The words " taken over the asylum " spring to mind.

  It is totally barmy. If by their definition a generation overlaps into the the following generation it must follow that the previous generation before 1914 must overlap into the 1914 time period which followed to its ultimate conclusion must include the Boer war, American Civil War and might even take in The Napoleonic War, etc.

  I know my Grandfather fought in the Great War and that he was not of my generation and that my Mother and Father were of a different generation to him just as much as they were of a different generation to me. So it goes on. My children are not of my generation. For instance they didn't dig Little Richard , Bill Haley, Chuck Berry and even Elvis .Hence the expression ," I don't know; the young generation today, they don't know they're born. Each generation has its own fads and fashions and maybe that marks out a particular life span but it is still a generation.

  Confused? you will be if you follow the JW path of enlightenment. Remember the expression " Generation Gap." Well shut my mouth ! I don't want to give the Governing Body any ideas.

  It's the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ that is the priceless gift that christians should avail themselves of not the value of the sales meeting chairs at Kingdumb Hall.

  How much would the Governing Body write on the pricetag for work done by the labouring classes of the Watchtower Society. ? I would think a big fat zero would just about cover it. For decades the filled seats at the hall have been priceless ,think of all the old light shining down on them.

  Imagine a ninty nine year old JW who was a young lad when he first started going to the meetings ; During the last century he would have sat there in his favourite seat in the same chair at the hall, week in week out, year in year out, with the old light going out and the new light coming in. He silently sitting there gathering cobwebs, occaisonally telling the rest of the congregation that Russia is the King Of the North , and that it's ok they don't have to buy him a birthday cake and that the League of Nations is doomed because Hitler invaded Poland which means a new beast has come on the scene called the United Nations and it's standing where God's Kingdom should be standing .But don't worry because brother Franz in Brooklyn has got it all figured out. His knowledge is based on sound doctrine and is correct because he has seen the very well illustrated Whore of Babylon in the big red book with no questions at the bottom.

  But he is a bit confused because for ages he had all the answers in a little book called Make sure of All Things and in there he was told not to worship creatures until somebody pointed that according to the Watchtower Jesus was created which made him a creature and that the Higher Authorities didn't apply to God and his Son any more. He is ok with that though because they have replaced the book with another.

  What is the real price paid by that man and many, many, more like him?

  When I was a teenager I thought I new it all ,I was full of zip zap zing and even in my early twenties as a JW I thought that I knew most of the crucial truths about life. Like the saying goes ," ask a teenager while they know it all." Now I cringe at some of the things said and done but I must say I didn't behave smugly or act in a way to deliberatley hurt anybody. It was probably the enthusiasm of youth kicking in. Now that I am long in the tooth , older and maybe a little wiser I am still learning from every day events. As for speaking out to criticise the JWs' it's not with smugness or arrogance it just comes from life experiences and being aware of the bigger picture.

  I have spoken to young JWs and older ones for that matter and some have acted smugly many have had that confidence of blind faith which can lead to later turmoil in their life .Many will go to their graves with that vacant smile on their face not realising the true history of The Watchtower and all its enfolding ramifications. If a Witness converses with you he or she will think , "why can they not see the way I can see it" and we in turn think the same about them. If we get a little agitated with them it can come over as arrogance that is why we need to be able to state our facts clearly which can sometimes be difficult because we are probably not debating the issues as often as they do and we have better things to attend to in life, even if their little learning is a dangerous thing.

  I just wish everyone on this Planet would get on well with each other because life is too short and none of us are going to get out of this World alive. Think about this for a minute when you are young ; some day you will turn around and you will be old and wonder where it all went and why it went so quickly. So enjoy life as much as you can we only get one shot at it and help others to enjoy it as often as you are able.

  What happens if you work all day, in fact day after day, week after week in an office with a member of the opposite sex, just the two of you and there's a very large cupboard handy. Should the cupboard be shunned or the couple admonished ?

  Would those working arrangements be O.K. even on a night shift and in a rest home?

  lately i did a lot of reading regarding the un scandal, the org being a ngo for 10 years.

  i tried to read both sides, the comments on jwfacts.com, as well as the defense at jehovahsjudgment.co.uk.. and then the endless discussion on topix.com between thirdwitness and alanf and others.. while i am sure, the way the org handled the whole situation, especially after the article in the guardian, was plain wrong, instead of openly confessing a mistake, it was done secretely and only after inquiry, and made it look like a cover-up.. .

  however, considering the whole issue, i think it comes down to one question:.

  The Watchtower had their own top echelon brothers working with U.N . groupings with the objective , probably, of spreading more of the Watchtower false doctrine. In other words they needed to sell more books and magazines all over the World thereby increasing their vast revenue stream.

  The point is that World Governments and the U.N. were designated by the Witnesses to be part of the Devil's organisation. Now if you climb into bed with the Whore of Babylon i.e. sit on a U.N. committee and Armageddon strikes then the people aligned with the U.N. are going to get zapped. In other words Witnesses are going to be destroyed during the final mega onslaught.

  All this proves is that the Watchtower, for most of it's history, has written reams and reams of hogwash.They never fail to trip themselves up by their twisting lies. I just wonder if they will ever make sense because they have had a hundred years of practicing religion and getting it spectaculary wrong.

  it still amazes me that i was a jehovah's witness for 27 years and never thought twice about these types of talks other than i need to make sure my act is together when the end comes, and now i can't even read/hear it without getting mad.

  The guy is talking sales talk, his object is to enthuse the rank and file and he is bringing it on in the same old way just like Knorr just like Rutherford. just like Franz just like Russel they inhabit the fantasy world of the mind, it's a kind of an imagination, it's a senario in a fantasy caused by faulty wiring in the brain. In reality he is saying believe what we tell you or the bogey man will get you, the phantom creature used to scare little children.

  Well we are not little children and we do not like confidence tricksters we have had over a hundred years of false Watchtower garbage and their wicked prophets, now we can see clearly what the Watchtower Org. is all about. Decade after decade of ignoring reality by sitting on the fence doing nothing tangible but accepting the status quo of World problems.

  If there is a God and if there is a heaven and if there is an account, when the The Almighty asks the Watchtower leaders, " How did you help suffering humanity? " their reply will be "well we sold plenty of books and magazines and that was about all we did , oh! nearly forgot God ,we owned a massive collection of real estate. We didn't need soup kitchens either because at Bethel all our needs were taken care of and God is your name really not Jehovah , well we never knew that, we learn something everyday,"
